Wow!!! First of all, I can't say enough about Jim, the maitre'D.
What was supposed to be a little over an hour trip to The Palm, turned out to be a 2 1/2 hour traffic nightmare. Those familiar with the Schuylkill Expressway will understand my frustration.
We had a 5:30 p.m. reservation, and didn't walk into the restaurant until 6:45 p.m., and needed to be at a performance at the Kimmel Center at 8:00 p.m.
I kept Jim apprised of our progress, as we inched our way to center city Philadelphia. He was most gracious.
When I was about 15 minutes away, I placed another call to him, and he asked me what my friend and I were drinking, and that he would have those drinks ready for us when we arrived. OMG!!! When we finally did arrive, there at our table were two perfectly made Manhattans (up). We were SO impressed!
However, it didn't stop there. He assured us that we would be out on time for our performance, and our server, Eric D, was so efficient and attentive, working to get us through our dining experience without feeling rushed. Amazing!!
Indeed, we left the restaurant at 7:45, having enjoyed a fabulous dinner!!! The Palm is always consistently good.
I usually blog about the food and wine, but this time, it is for the excellent service AND food that we received from The Palm that evening.
Thank you Jim, Eric and all the professionals at The Palm for making our experience so memorable!!!
You Rock!!!
